Mon approche reflète les couches de mon identité multiculturelle. Dans ma peinture, je raconte d’une manière poétique ma provenance d’un environnement où plusieurs cultures et traditions cohabitent qui parfois s’entendent et parfois s’opposent. Les dessins de mes tableaux s’interférent souvent avec des motifs de tapis caucasiens et parfois sont survolés par des figures de miniature islamique, persane, arménienne. Les cultures sont tissées les unes aux autres comme sont tissées les différentes parties colorées d’un tapis.
Parler de mon identité et la peindre est un plaisir pour moi. Parce que mon identité culturelle est née du mélange d’influences de différentes cultures orientales et caucasiennes avec une tendance à s’occidentaliser. Le tapis, un objet multiculturel, est par ses motifs un élément représentatif du melting pot de l’histoire des cultures arabe, orientales et caucasiennes. Les figures de miniatures représentent les cultures elles-mêmes. Ces dernières, avec les motifs géométriques des tapis y projettent le mélange des cultures qui doit remédier à la peur de perdre l’identité dans un paysage globalisé.
