Elle est façonnée en argile de grès et cuite en "raku", technique d'émaillage et de cuisson empruntée à l'artisanat japonais du seizième siècle. L'émail raku est d'un bleu profond sur la partie supérieure de la sculpture. L'envers, enfumé, est anthracite.
