Jad Abou Zeki is a Beirut based LAU graphic design alumnus and has been working professionally for 3 years in various fields such as advertising, design and animation. In 2019, no longer interested in the 9 to 5 antiquated work routine, he opted out and pursued a freelance career in animation and illustration. After a 2 year hiatus, a revolution and an economic crisis Jad aspires to unfold a life outside the deteriorating walls of Lebanon that no longer offer a safe space for mental or emotional growth. Hoping to feed his thirst for creation as he looks towards a career in concept art and storytelling. His work, a patchwork of fiction and fictional creatures, of political satire and realms of fantasy, of sexuality, humor and a whirlwind of emotions, encapsulated by an ever evolving style that balances between geometric and natural, detailed and expressive, dark and heartfelt. Jad recently exhibited "The Kiss" at the K Museum of Contemporary Art - Seoul, South Korea as part of the KISS : LOVE MOMENTS exhibition. His “Beirut is a Damsel in distress” poster won the 100 Best Arabic Posters competition that premiered at Amman Design Week. Also showcasing his artwork entitled "Pseudo-Independence" for the Independence Day Art Show for the Lebanese consulate in New York.
