Sagas of Painful Bodies is that project examines the life experience of seven Lebanese women (my self-included) dealing with a chronically painful condition known as Fibromyalgia. My work is an investigation of chronic disease narrative and physical gestures. It sheds light on the nature of the disrupted experiences, their meanings, and actions. On the other hand, it exposes in painterly forms a broader range of existential questions and creates poetic links between identity, experiences, and cultural stigma.
